Pre-2000 tags use green script "Polo by Ralph Lauren". Post-2010 tags are blue/grey.
Made in USA single-stitch
Pre-1990 = single-stitched cuffs and hem. Single-stitch = premium resale.
Pony embroidery
Real pony has clean parallel stitching, ~3mm tall. Sloppy pony = fake.
Care label position
Sewn into the side seam below the underarm. Never inside the collar.
Material weight
Real vintage Polo cotton is heavier (200-220 gsm) than modern reproductions.
